Better Skin Care – What You Should Be Doing To Help Get Rid Of Acne
Before looking to mother nature for the answer there are certain things that you should ensure you are doing regularly to limit and control outbreaks of acne, and these are all to do with taking better care of your skin.
Fact: Almost 40% of all cases of acne are caused by poor skin care!
1. Try not to touch your face. Your hands come in contact with so many different things through the course of the day and although many of them may well be clean and sterile just as many are not. Unless you wash your hands thoroughly every time before touching your face, which is highly unlikely, you are best avoiding touching your face altogether! (Good luck with this one!!)
2. Washing twice a day, every day. Washing yourself regularly is the most important step in keeping acne at bay. Although you should wash thoroughly this doesn’t mean aggressively, be gentle and always use a clean cloth, warm water and a mild soap. Too strong a soap will strip your skin of vital oils and being too aggressive can weaken your skin and agitate any existing acne outbreak.
3. Exercise regularly. Although exercise greatly benefits your general physical and mental health it also makes you sweat which helps to clear skin pores.
4. Wear loose clothing. Not all acne is on the face, it can appear anywhere on the body and one of the main reasons for this is tight fitting clothing or strapping. Switching to lose fitting clothing preferably made of cotton will help.
If done correctly, these 4 simple measures will help a large number of acne sufferers to control or even prevent their acne, but unfortunately, for many more, acne will continue to be a problem as poor skin cleanliness will not be the over-riding factor.
If you fall into the later category then other measures will need to be taken but please understand that this doesn’t mean that better skin care should lessen in importance and therefore, must always be adhered to.
