Simple Acne Prevention

A lot of people have been engrossed with the many different ways of how to get rid of acne preferring to undergo complicated dermatological procedures or buying expensive beauty products in order to have a skin that looks beautiful. However, what most of them tend to forget is that acne prevention is far better than simply waiting for the condition to strike and then to treat it!

In order to have a hundred percent effective acne prevention regimen, it is important that one must have a complete understanding of what is actually causing the acne, and as much as possible avoid these causes not just as a means of how to get rid of acne but also to prevent it from ever developing.

The most obvious and also the oldest method of preventing acne would be keeping the face clean, since it prevents the buildup of excess oil, bacteria, dirt and dead skin cells on the skin. Most people would prefer to use a regular bar of soap in keeping the face clean; however, it is also important to choose a soap that fits the skin type of the person.

Also, the pressure and frequency of cleaning the face must also be considered in order to prevent the development of acne. Washing the face must also be limited to twice per day – once in the morning upon waking up and the other at night prior to retiring to bed; or else the skin will become drier making it easier for bacteria to stay on the skin. Exfoliating the skin is also limited to once or a maximum of two times in a week because instead of removing the dead skin cells, rubbing the skin may cause the inflammation of the pores to become worse.

Almost all fitness and health books recommend to drink water at least eight glasses in a day in order to maintain body hydration and facilitate removal of body wastes. But, it is also another effective acne prevention method since it tends to minimize the production of oil in the skin because it is receiving an adequate supply of water.

Making the right decisions by avoiding certain types of foods that tend to aggravate acne on the skin is another efficient acne prevention. The consumption of dairy products such as milk and cheese has been known to increase the chances of having an acne attack by 50% but this is not applicable to all individuals. There are some people who do not suffer acne problems from drinking milk but if you are not one of these people, it is better to avoid drinking milk. Staying away from foods that are salty, rich in sugar and contain preservatives are also believed to worsen acne.

A more simple statement of acne prevention would be adapting a healthy lifestyle such as proper diet, regular physical activity and adequate sleep; plus these things do not only manage acne but will also keep you fit and healthy.
